4 Hour Lunch

I was invited with hubby to a lunch with some of my co-workers.  It was at a restaurant that apparently gets their Guinness directly from Ireland, which is a big draw to beer drinkers.  Sadly people didn't show up on time, so it ended up being a 4 hour lunch.

However, it was a quick 4 hours of good talk and fun times.  It's nice to hang out with people that don't yet know all of your stories.

Bette and Gary

In my most recent Amazon box was a DVD copy of Beaches and First Wives Club.  I had seen an article about FWC and decided I liked it enough to buy a $5 copy.  Then I saw that Beaches was on sale for the same price, so I picked that up too.

I watched some of Beaches this morning with the commentary, and it hit me how much Gary Marshall movies have shaped my life.  I remember fighting with my best friend about if we were CC or Hillary, much like girls in the last decade said if they were a Carrie/Samantha/Charlotte/Miranda.

Gary Marshall movies are so much more to me than that though.  I feel like everything important I've learned about life I've learned from those movies.  The importance of friendship is a big one, and I texted my best friend to say hi and that I miss her today, and how awesome it would be if we were in the same town to watch Beaches together another time.  But if anyone asks, I'm both CC and Hillary together.  Thanks Gary and Bette!

Compliments make me happy

From a co worker. Nothing is better than that.

Midnight at WalMart

I needed some gas for the car and some shampoo, so my sister and I did another midnight Wally World run. There is something about shopping late at night that feels so relaxing. I would do all of my shopping late at night if everything was open.

Feels like a Monday, Acts like a full moon

It was a bit of a rough day.  I had some rough people to deal with at work, and hubby did too.  Everyone was acting like it was a full moon and felt fully entitled.

The sad part is that the full moon isn't for awhile.

The Island

After watching a disappointing first episode of True Blood today, I looked around HBOGO for some movies for the rest of my work day.  I stumbled upon The Island, and I had vowed to try and give old ScarJo another chance, so I put it on.

Wow, the whole idea of cloning yourself just went away, didn't it?  I mean, when this movie was made in 2005, I guess it was kind of over too, but I barely remembered that we can do that.  The movie's premise of people being housed in case the original needed the organs/skin/whatever was so possibly accurate at one point in time that it was scary.

What happened to cloning?  It was so cool.  That being said, the movie wasn't as bad as I remember it.

I Can See Clearly Now, the Money Is Gone

I went to Lenscrafters today and got a new pair of glasses, transitionals for when I'm going in and out of buildings all day.

After careful consideration I decided on a pair of Tiffany frames.  And I hate myself for it, because jeez is Tiffany's pretentious and expensive for just no reason.  However, insurance was footing a solid amount of the cost, so I thought I should have at least one pair of really good glasses in case of emergency and for trips.

They are Tiffany Blue, but very pretty.  I went to pick up my sister and we went shopping at Trader Joe's, and then went to buy her a new iphone charger.  She goes through them like tubes toothpaste, I have no idea why she is so hard on them.

Peanuts and Cracker Jacks

Because the rings I bought for our 10th Anniversary are most likely going to be late, I took hubby out to sushi today for an early celebration.

That basically sushi coma-ed us into oblivion until my sister came home, and then we all went out to a local baseball game.  It was one of the worst games I've ever been to.  We left at the bottom of the 8th because only 4 points had been scored, 2 on each team.

I have high hopes of getting some stuff done tomorrow, like going to the eye doctor and getting some K-cups from Bed Bath and Beyond.  Gotta love those coupons.  After wearing my glasses through the ballgame, I started to get a bad headache.  I feel like it's possible that my eyesight has gotten a little better, and I really need a new set of frames in case the ones I have break.

Why isn't this my day off?

It really sucks to not have this day off.  I basically have to take off for work and leave my sister and hubby to go work a really slow work day.  When I come back, they have gotten less than nothing done.  But hey, that X-Men: First Class on FX wasn't going to watch itself I guess.

I need to pick back up on True Blood's episode when I do get back to work, as this was my Friday.  A co-worker has a small role this season and I'd really love to see him.  Until then I just watched some old movies instead, Don Juan De Marco was on HBOGo.  Wow, that movie was horrible.  I can't believe they talked all those stars into it.

MONEY$

My checkbook hasn't balanced in almost forever.  I've asked the hubby to look at it for almost a year.  He finally got around to it tonight, and it appears that the only problem was I transposed a few entries.  Oh, and that Dr. Hitler's office really likes putting off cashing my checks to them.

I have to remember to pay them every time I go to the office now.  I can't wait until I have a new doctor in my new/old town.

Talk of Strippers

You can always tell your workplace is liberal by the fact that we managed to spend almost the entire workday trading stories about strippers.

Yeah, that was pretty much my whole day.  Nothing else cool happened.

Don't Quote Me on This

Today was sort of awesome, as I woke up to a quote from yesterdays blog on my friend's twitter.  I'm super glad she enjoyed it, as that is the only thing you can do in bad situations is laugh about it.

It actually was a little better today, but I'm hoping I can get all my problems solved and get the vampire to turn on the lights by next week.  In the meantime I'm just sitting at other people's desks.

Right before I went to sleep I discovered that something I said made "the quote list" on tumblr, which prides itself on taking weird quotes out of context.  Mine was "Mechanical DJ" because I couldn't figure out the word jukebox.  Hypo-Brain Fart.

Revenge of the Valley Girls

There is a Basic Bitch epidemic at work.  It started with around 3 girls, but it has grown to at least 7 jibberjabering asshats constantly talking about the trim of their bikini line at full volume for 7 hours out of my work day.

I spoke to someone higher up and they told me a conversation will happen with them.  I hope that it gets better soon.  I also have another regular bitch that wants to keep the lights off so that I get headaches every day.  I also spoke to someone and I might be moving my desk in that case.

I'm just done with bitches in general today.  I've had enough.  I "literally can't even"

$20.00 of Fail

I did a lot of cleaning and working out today which rendered me a little weak near the end of the day.  I managed to stay upright while going shopping with my sister and helping her study for a shiatsu exam tomorrow.

I was going to watch "In A World" as the Netflix DVD came in a few days ago, but I just couldn't really stay downstairs anymore.  I went upstairs and folded laundry and decided I was going to figure out my checking out problem.

I started at the beginning of the year, printed out my bank statement, and found that Dr. Hitler's office didn't cash my $20.00 check I mailed to them in early March.  I'm not sure how long I'm supposed to wait for them to cash it, there has to be a point where checks are no longer cash-able, right?

I'm just glad I found the difference, it's been bothering me for months.  Now I'm just laying in bed so tired I could freaking die.  I hope this doesn't carry over to tomorrow.

Mental Health Pinball

My sister came home early today a little overwhelmed by the day.  We decided to cheer her up by taking her out to play pinball.  We gathered all the quarters from the house and had a grand time for a few hours.  Then we went out to eat and did a little shopping.  I hope that we distracted her from her troubles for a day so she can go back to school tomorrow with a fresh outlook.

Quiet!

My sister and Hubby came to visit me at lunch today, it was really nice!

A co-worker and I bonded over being introverts together, and she told me about this book called Quiet that I'm going to check out.

Nev and Max Bromance

My sister and I watched more episodes of Catfish today. I can't help but be fascinated by that show, it's like the modern day Jerry Springer.

Suck it Traffic!

I had a meeting at work so I got off of work earlier than normal.  It was 9:30 at night but I still managed to get stuck in gridlock traffic so it took me an hour to get home.

My sister was awake when I got home so I showed her the new dress and shoes I bought, and then we watched the new episode of Catfish.  There is something so intriguing about that show, I just can't look away.

I still have a headache, but hopefully it will go away soon.  In the meantime, the night did end on a high note with my sister and I laughing at the Catfish tag on tumblr.

Headache, Headache, Go Away!

I still had a headache today, not really sure what the heck was going on.

I got home and my sister was asleep, so I just went straight to bed.  Boring day with a headache.

But Eve isn't all that interesting

I did some food shopping by myself today but didn't do so well because I had a headache. I tried to watch "All About Eve" in the evening, but I couldn't concentrate on it.

Looks like I'm going to bed early due to laziness.

The Fault in Our Stars

Both my sister and husband recanted their earlier statement about wanting to see TFiOS with me.  Hubby ended up going with me, but I feel like I made him do it so it ruined the moment a bit.

The movie was good, but nothing is going to beat the book.  I basically cried my eyes out with the book.  There were plenty of tears in the movie, but I really just don't like the main actress.  Laura Dern killed it as the mom though.

This season of Orange is the New Black was great.  I need to watch it again to catch the nuances, but it was great.  Thank goodness for fiction, because my non-fiction life is really boring right now.

OITNB Spoiler Alert

I'm almost done, and nothing else matters.  It's been a wild ride so far.  More tomorrow.

The Night Life

Being back on a night shift is so nice.  All my breaks were quiet and restful, and there was actual downtime near the end of my shift.

I spent near the entire shift trying to catch up on OITNB, but for some reason Netflix decided that subtitles weren't needed.  Seeing as how near all of episode 5 is in Spanish, and I flunked out of high school Spanish, it was rough.  All I know is that the character's husband/boyfriend beat her and then for no reason she was arrested.  Obviously I'm going to have to rewatch on the big screen later.

So far I like my new team too, so I think that this shift is going to be okay.

Beach Dreams Dashed

We only got one "head" of cauliflower, so we made a small amount of "mashed cauliflower" but it was good.  There wasn't even a recipe, we just boiled them for a few minutes, threw them in the food processor, and added butter.  They tasted just like the real thing.

I guess going to the beach in August was a stupid idea, because I'm having a hard time finding a hotel in the area for my sister's graduation.  I'll have to take another look while I'm at work on my new shift tomorrow.

I'm working until 11 so I guess I'll have to take to writing these entries on my last break or something.  My energy has been sapped since my vodka party started yesterday, and I ate way too much sugar today.

Because my kindle was being strange, I didn't get to finish the first episode of Orange is the New Black Season 2.  I have a feeling it's all I'm going to be doing tomorrow.

Mashed Califlower Shopping

Since I'm about to switch shifts soon, my sister and I went food shopping today so we can all have lunch together.  I don't think we really got enough, but it still came to just under $100.00.  I'm starting to look forward to switching back.

I had an idea just before I went to bed that we could go on a trip with my mom while she was here for my sisters graduation.  I'll check out possibilities tomorrow.

Stonecutter Challenge

The most notable things about today were that I moved desks in anticipation of the upcoming shift bid, and the Simpsons Tapped Out app has a new update about the Stonecutters episodes.

G convinced me to buy some donuts off of Fiverr a few days ago, so I did. I can buy a lot of things in the game now, but I'm trying to be a little frugal.

My sister set up her final test for massage school today, it will be the day after her last day of class. She graduates on August 8th, and mom is coming down for the celebration and staying the weekend. I hope it will be a nice trip for her, she never takes vacations.

Peanuts and Coffee

Well, Coffee and Peanuts time has started.  My fatigue is still there, and so I just headed home after work and I'm going to write some tonight on my other blog.  I hope I can get through a few entries before just going to bed.

A Million Ways to Die in the West

G works at the theater now, so he got us tickets to see A Million Ways to Die in the West.  I really hated Ted, so this was a pleasant surprise.  It was hilarious with a lot of great cameos.

We all went out to eat afterwards and had a nice talk.  It was nice to get out after my doctor's appointment, which was really upsetting.  Basically Dr. Hitler said that my levels were exactly the way they needed to be, and poo-pooed my increased fatigue.  She stated that I should drink more coffee and eat a handful of peanuts every two hours.

I'm at such a loss, as being hypothyroid is such a crapshoot of emotions.  Maybe I'm just so depressed being in this town that I impose the fatigue.  Maybe my levels are fine but I need a better doctor to find what is causing my fatigue. Maybe once I move back home the fatigue will go away, maybe it will stick around and I'll never really be happy again.

If I lose my job due to fatigue, how will I ever get better without insurance?

Airportness

My sister came home tonight and then skyped with the boyfriend she just left. -_-

Oh well. Hubby and I ran some errands and then went to dinner. It was a slow easygoing day, but I'm still very tired.

I have an appointment with Dr Hitler tomorrow, hopefully she'll have another answer for my energy level.
